This was a pet project for the chief magnetey.eser as Yair Dalal is an artist he has liked since his early teens.

When he got wind of the fact that he was coming to Melbourne, he made it his mission to have him perform at his synagogue.

The challenge to the event was that it would be short, at an awkward hour of 630-800pm, and it would be squeezed between other bigger events featuring Yair Dalal, such as the event at the Boite theatre happening on the same night, or the joint concert with Jordi Savall in the days before. The strategy proved itself when Google the following queries yielded:

Apart from the concert being a great success, we were able to appropriately remunerate the artists, just from the takings at the door, the money raised via pre-sales using the trybooking system was a pure fundraiser for the synagogue and its community.
